2018 CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) We offer fresh local vegetables for people in Southern Maine through our Community Supported Agriculture program. We are cooperatively owned and producing healthy fruits and vegetables by caring for the land and using no chemicals
We grow delicious chemical-free vegetables at our farm in Lewiston and in our hoophouses in Lisbon. We are not certified organic at this time, but we focus on using organic growing practices. We are planning to get certified organic next
We are Jabril Abdi, Seynab Ali, Mohamed Abukar and Batula Ismail. We came to Lewiston, Maine in the mid-2000s as refugees from Somalia and started farming in Lisbon. Our people are farmers and we have always fed our country. Now we are growing food for our new communities in Southern Maine.
We are building economic security for New Americans by providing delicious vegetables for our community. By purchasing our food, you are getting healthy food for your family and helping grow security, jobs and ownership in the Somali Bantu community in Lewiston. Our cooperative provides us with access to land, equipment, and markets.
